There was a mouse who was hungry
to Know. He didn't know exactly what, but he was
determined. He thought the knowledge he sought must
be high up on the shelf in the Big Book. So, he began
to climb and was met by many obstacles.
At last, he reached the top. He was
very excited. But the Big Book he found
was jammed in between many other books
and he was too little to move it.
To another, the situation might have
been hopeless, but the mouse was clever
and his teeth were sharp. Up to the
top of the Big Book he climbed and
began to eat. Soon he had eaten right
down to the middle.
The owner of the Big Book began searching
for a definition. He pulled the Big
Book from the shelf but the word he
was looking for was gone. He slammed
the Big Book down on the arm of his
chair, and the mouse, observing, almost
jumped out of his skin at the noise.
The mouse smiled for he had found
the Word and his stom-ach was full.
It remained for him now to digest the
Word in si-lence. And as for Man, he
calls the whole situation a Mystery.
