A brief Biography of Samuel Ben-Or Avital

 

Samuel Ben-Or Avital was born in a small village called Sefrou, near Fez, in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. He was educated in the home of a simple, noble and remarkable family, which traces its lineage to 15th Century Spain and before.

 

His lineage of carrying from father to son in an unbroken line, the Sephardic tradition the ancient, beautiful and practical wisdom of the authentic Hebrew Kabbalah, which has been called “The Soul Engineering of sacred work.”

As a young man, he travelled illegally to Israel, where he lived and worked in the kibbutz, then to Paris, France where he studied mime, dance and physical theatre with the Masters of these Arts. Afterwards, Samuel came to America, where he developed taught his developed method, The BodySpeak™ - Moving Body & Mind (the "art of Conscious Integrated Being") in the form of physical theatre for over 40 years to many students from all over the world,

Samuel's deep roots in spiritual life, his training and skill in physical theater, his knowledge of various languages, and his fresh perspective on modern life, combine a rare and unique capacity to effectively bridge and harmonize two widely "separated" realms, that is, the deeply spiritual realm of the Sephardic Jewish Kabbalistic tradition, and the insanely and overly materialistic realm of modern American life.
